The Chart Room
Six of us went to dinner at the The Chart Room, a family restaurant located in the village of Hulls Cove, Bar Harbor, and we had a delightful meal. The restaurant offers views of Frenchmans Bay, the atmosphere is warm and friendly, and the seating is comfortable. We did not have to wait long for our waiter to appear, and he was helpful and attentive. We ordered from various items on the menu, including veal, yellowfin tuna, fried shrimp and lobster newburg. I ordered the blackened yellowfin tuna with a strawberry sauce (one of the specials), and it was one of the best meals I have had in years. If I had the time I might have ordered the same entree again! The shrimp, veal and lobster were all a hit, but the Black Angus prime rib was somewhat tough. Some of us that were not already full ordered blueberry pie and cheesecake for our dessert, and those proved delightful as well.
I recommend reservations as you may have to wait if you just show up. The restaurant is on Route 3, several hundred yards before you get to the main entrance to Acadia National Park if you are driving towards Bar Harbor from Ellsworth. (see map)
