Lunch To Go

2 Cats will pack up a box lunch for you with sandwich, juice, cookie or fruit, and a bag of chips. You can choose between 5 different sandwiches including the Max (turkey, avocado, cranberry chutney, cheese & lettuce), the Irene (hummus & veggie pita) and the Florabelle (tuna salad with lettuce & tomato).

Just down the road from 2 Cats at 116 Cottage St. is The Bagel Factory. Mouth watering home-made sourdough potato bagels make delicious and filling sandwiches. Sandwich varieties include tuna salad, prosciutto with goat cheese, roasted turkey & cheddar, spicy chicken salad, and hummus. This summer The Bagel Factory is also offering paninis. Grab a bag of jalapeno bagel chips and a Fresh Samantha juice to round out your meal.

Over in Northeast Harbor, the Full Belli Deli has a selection of sandwiches, fresh deli salads, juices and snacks to make up a picnic lunch. Italians, crab rolls, and delicious combinations such as chicken salad with bacon, lettuce and cranberry lettuce; ham with bacon, carmelized onions, lettuce & tomato; or roast beef with horseradish sauce.

Also in Northeast Harbor, Redfield's Restaurant is open for lunch this season. Try the fabulous blue cheese & garlic caesar salad (with or without grilled sirloin), a filling roasted turkey sandwich with lettuce, bacon, avocado, aged cheddar and roasted red pepper mayonnaise on home-made focaccia, chowder, spinach & feta pastries with tamari ginger dipping sauce, or crab cakes with cajun mayonnaise server on a bed of lettuce or foccacia. The menu changes slightly each week, but these standards are sure to please.

Over in Southwest Harbor, Little Notch Café has a large selection of sandwiches made on their own breads. Grilled chicken focaccia with carmelized onions and garlic aioli; grilled flank steak with roasted peppers and onions on baguette; focaccia pocket with marinated veggies, hummus, lettuce, tomato and sprouts; and prosciutto with asiago and roasted peppers on an onion roll are just a sampling off their menu.
